Apart from the participation in 2012 GG-LED Exhibition, SUNFOR also schedules a news conference on its AC LED technology which will be held at conference room D, third floor of Guangzhou Poly World Trade Center, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on 17th August.
AC power supply is widely adopted in the fields of household, industry and commerce and public place at present. When traditional DC-LED is applied in lighting, an additional conversion device which can turn AC into DC is needed. The advantage of such power supply model is that LED can glow consecutively due to the stability of DC.
However, AC-DC conversion device causes many problems in practice. Even LED can work with AC via principle of rectifier circuit, alongside the problem is stroboflash resulted from AC’s periodical changes.
It is learnt that ‘stroboflash’ is an inherent flaw for AC-LED lighting. To solve this problem, light-emitting unit and electronic circuit are made smaller through integrated circuit technique, in this case, it’s not noticeable when the AC voltage is lower than forward voltage (LED does not light),which just scratches the surface of the problem.
Sichuan SUNFOR Light Co., Ltd. (SUNFOR) recently tackles that technical difficulty by using newly developed fluorescent powder which can offset stroboflash when current periodically changes due to its delay in luminance.
‘Light engine and smart control system is another innovation of SUNFOR’s AC-LED lighting products’ said Zhao Kun, chief of SUNFOR’s R&D center. SUNFOR packages LED chip and drive circuit integration in the same substrate and make a standard light engine product through system-level packaging technique combined with fluorescent powder technology, thermal management and optical design etc.
Zhao added that SUNFOR’s achievements in AC-LED break through global patent siege. SUNFOR has applied 156 AC LED patents, among which 28 domestic ones with 5 authorized, 18 global ones with 10 authorized.
